The (new) age old question. Do you get the Kindle Fire or Apple's latest and greatest IPad. I will try and shy away from all the technological talk and leave some of the generic details out of this comparison. If you are looking to buy a tablet your already know what you want. And right now you just want the facts on which is more bang for the buck. The IPad is  regarded as the "Everything-Tablet". It can do almost anything with its only weakness being its price. Due to the IPad being the gold standard I will compare  the kindle fire to it.

Video Streaming
The Kindle fire is only a seven inch tablet, which is about half the size of  that IPad you're looking at. Fortunately the Kindle is wide screen while the IPad is more square. This means that when watching movies and videos on either tablet the screen size is about the same. The kindle size makes it much more portable and easy to carry home to the park to the beach. When connected to normal wifi  both tablets played the video via Netflix. The Kindle did a great job maintaining HD while the IPad played the video great it was stubborn and stayed in SD most of the time. The Kindle also kept its connection to the wifi further from the building. The IPad stoppedd streaming literally about five feet from the door while the Kindle made it close to 50 feet. If Video streaming is your biggest priority the Kindle is defiantly for you as no other tablet can compete.

Web Browser
Apple's safari has been refined over time and is noticeably faster than the  Kindle's Silk. Silk also felt more clunky than Safari. In my opinion there are a few to many steps in  accessing  history and bookmarks. It's also important to note that Silk's reading mode converts web pages into Kindle book format, with the same font and pages color options you'd expect to see when reading a Kindle book. This mode works perfectly on some pages, but even on pages where the mode was available, it pages didn't always format as they should and most of the article could be missing. The feature is nice but it needs to work with more web pages before I will fully endorse it.

Games
Apple's app store is much much more comprehensive than other market out there and with Amazon's market even below the Andriod market Apple is clear winner. The graphics are about equal when playing games on the either devise but the IPads bigger screen makes games easier and much more enjoyable. Apple's start up time was less when opening apps.

Conclusion
Both of these tablets are  great pieces of technology and both would be a great purchase. But there is no real  winner here. It depends on your needs and means. The Kindle is clearly superior when it comes to any and all things media. Its stereo sound system blows the IPads monospeaker system out of the water, and is much better at video streaming. Amazon is the undisputed system when it comes to reading books and magazines on a tablet. The Ipad is better for apps and  entertainment. All things said and done the Kindle does 80% of what the Ipad does at roughly 40% of the price. If you have the money the IPad is a great investment. If you just need a tablet to get the job done the Kindle will most likely be able to do it, is more portable, cheaper, and better for reading. If you are looking to buy either I have put a few links down at the bottom of this page if you wish to buy from Amazon
